To Diet or not to Diet?

Are you a Dieting Dora or a Lifestyle Lily?

Our leader (Pat) began our meeting today with this quote:

Give a person a Diet ... They will starve for a day.

Teach them to eat... They will be thankful for a lifetime!

Chances are that you have already become a "Lifestyle Lily" if you have embraced the Weight Watchers Momentum plan. One of the great benefits of the WW Momentum plan is that "We actually can eat anything that we want to eat," provided that we use moderation and be accountable for it in our daily food journal.
*Remember "If you bite it, write it!"

One member shared with our group how she had been struggling all week with an overwhelming craving for Buffalo Wings. She knew that Buffalo Wings weren't a healthy choice but went on to add that nothing she had eaten for the past week had really truly satisfied her. Our advise to her as a group "Go eat you Buffalo Wings, have one, two or a half dozen, if you like, provided you are accountable for them in your journal and then "Move On".

If we start to think that there are things that we can not have then we begin to feel deprived and soon we start to rebel. We all know what happens next:
We fall off the wagon and we fail at achieving our weight loss goals. But, if we learn how to make good choices and stick with those choices we will succeed. Even if we have a Buffalo wing every now and then.

Just remember the "Weight Watchers Momentum Plan" approach:
  1. Eat Smarter - always try to choose those filling foods
  2. Move More
  3. Build Helpful Habits (follow the good health guidelines on pages 24-25 of Book 1
  4. Attend Meetings

Our leader closed with this quote:

I went on a diet for 2 weeks & all I lost was 14 days.
